BUSY mum Alison Segal knew exactly what her weight loss goal was when she started her Slimpod – to lose a stone in time for her husband’s 40th birthday party. In fact, after just nine weeks she passed her target with ease, and by the time of the party she’d actually lost 18lbs. Then Alison, from Eastcote, Middlesex, set a new goal – to lose even more weight. Already she has lost six more lbs and the weight loss continues every week. Here, in her own words, she tells how Slimpod has changed her life.  Read Alison’s story and watch her on video…

“Slimpod’s fantastic. I listen to it every night and I don’t have to worry about what I’m doing during the day, I just find that I have to eat less, I’m not as hungry as I used to be and it’s just changed my life.

“In 11 weeks using the Slimpod I’d lost about 18 lbs and I hope to continue and carry on to lose another 18lbs.

“I really love my Slimpod. I’m a little bit addicted to it and if I don’t listen to it one evening I start to panic. I could never be without my Slimpod, not now.

“I really looked forward to Christmas and the party season now that Slimpod has transformed the way I look. For the first time I didn’t have any qualms about feeling hungry and eating Christmas pudding and mince pies.

“Usually as Christmas got nearer I’d been on a diet and lost a bit of weight but then November would come along and it would all start to wain and I'd put it all back on again. By Christmas Day I’d already be well on the way to having a tummy like Santa’s! But with Slimpod I didn’t feel tempted at all and Christmas was brilliant.

“Listening to the Slimpod means that things seem to sink in. Even  though I’m not aware of making a conscious decision to eat less, I find I’m getting up from the table and leaving food on my plate, which I never did before.

“I’ve also stopped having tea with the children every afternoon, and even when I have a cup of tea I no longer want to have a biscuit with it.

“I’m not hungry between meals at the moment, I don’t need to eat cakes, I just don’t feel the urge for sweet things, so I’m hoping that will continue. Actually, I know it will.
“I’ve tried so many different diets – in fact, I’ve tried everything – and Slimpod is the only one I can really say has worked for me. I don’t even have to think about dieting.
“I do have a guilty secret…I joined WeightWatchers with a friend so I can weigh myself every week using their scales. That way I don’t feel I’m cheating with my weight loss in any way.

“However, I haven’t worked out the points system yet so I haven’t actually done their diet. So it’s the Slimpod that’s helped me to lose weight. When I tell everyone at the WeightWatchers meeting they’re all a bit jealous!

“After using the Slimpod for just a few weeks I noticed that I seemed to have a lot more energy and I’m more motivated to do things. The family’s doing more outdoorsy things, weather permitting, and we’re doing lots more things together.

"We’ve walked down to the shops a couple of times

instead of taking the car, for example, and we’re going on nice walks. We’re slowly changing our lives with the Slimpod.

“I have to say that the Slimpod is so easy to use that it’s almost like cheating. It’s simple and you don’t have to put any thought into it – in fact, it’s so fantastic that I’m recommending it to everyone.

“I’m very happy with the way I look and the way I’m feeling. What’s most noticeable is that I’m just not hungry any more and I don’t have any urges for sweet things.

“Now I want to lose another 18lbs, I want to be more energetic and get on my running machine and I want to keep on feeling great about myself.

"I’m doing well, and I’m quite proud of myself, but I just want to keep going and achieve more.

"Slimpod has really changed my life – it’s the simplest, easiest thing to use. In fact, I don’t even think that I’m using anything at all. I recommend it to everyone.”

I WAS on the radio this morning reviewing the papers for LBC and as luck would have it, one of the news items was this continuing debate on whether certain items of food and drink should be taxed because of their high fat or sugar content. My view is that this 'Fat Tax' is unworkable and impractica...
