True weight loss success that will inspire every slimmer

KEEN sportsman Neil Jones had no trouble keeping his weight down when he played cricket, hockey and football every week. But years of action on the field took its toll on his ankle, and when he had to give up playing his weight ballooned to 15 stone. But after just two months listening to a Slimpod Neil, from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, lost 11lbs. “Long may it continue – I know it will,” he says. The best part of the Slimpod is that it’s effortless. I’ve done nothing apart from listen for 10 minutes every night. I’d certainly recommend it for anyone.” Here’s Neil’s story in his own words…

“With two young children, I wanted to get fitter for them so I could cycle and swim with them. The Slimpod has been amazing: I don’t know how it works, I only know it does. It’s so simple.

“One of the first differences I noticed was that when I was out visiting clients I no longer felt the urge to stop on the way for a snack. And I don’t feel the need to have a drink or a snack when I’m watching late-night TV at home. I just drink water instead.

“ I love real ale, but over the past few weeks I’ve definitely been drinking less. And my evening meal has been a struggle to finish, in fact most nights I’m leaving some on my plate, even curries.

“My progress has been incredible. My weight was static at 15 stone for a year then since starting the Slimpod I’ve lost three-quarters of a stone in seven weeks. The first place I noticed the difference was in my face. All of a sudden I lost my ‘hamster cheeks.’

“Then my trousers felt a little bit looser. I used to be a 32/34 waist but recently this went up to a 36. Now I can get back into a 34 waist and it’s feeling more comfortable every day. I didn't lose a lot of weight at first, but after about five weeks people suddenly started to comment that I'd lost weight. That felt really good!

‘The Slimpod really gives you a boost and as you make progress it encourages you to do more to speed up your weight loss. I’ve even been out on my bike a couple of times after not having got on it for several years. “

Here’s what Neil wrote in his daily success log:

I felt fuller after eating my lunch, and drank water during the day. I actually feel more energetic. Day 2: Didn’t feel so hungry during the day and had fewer snacks. Felt less bloated. Day 3: Ate less than normal during the day. Didn’t feel like a beer as much as usual. Struggled to finish evening meal.

Resisted the need to have a snack between meals. Couldn’t finish evening meal. Felt desire to do some exercise. Day 5: Felt less hungry than normal. Drank lots of water. Went for bike ride.  Day 6: Felt very bloated after large meal. Had more energy while playing with children. Looking forward to doing some more exercise.

Drinking water during day. Not feeling like fast food or snacks. Struggling to complete meals. Day 8: Feeling less bloated. More energetic. Eating less. Day 9: Lost small amount of weight. Drinking less alcohol. Eating more healthily.  Day 10: Playing more with children. Feeling healthier. Starting to look better.

Unable to finish meals, eating less than previously. Exercising / walking more. Drinking more water. Day 12: Feeling more energetic. Leaving food on plate when full. Not thinking as much about food. Day 13: Thinking more about what I eat.  Only eating at meal times. Drinking water throughout day.

Turning down snack vans when travelling. Not wanting so much alcohol. Weighed myself and lost 5lbs. Day 15: Feeling more comfortable in old jeans. Parking further from work and walking. Drank two litres of water. Day 16: Visible level of weight loss. Much reduced appetitie. Struggled to eat portion of fish and chips.

Ankle injury improved as I’m carrying less weight. Enjoying food more, eating better. Fewer hunger pangs. Day 18: Went swimming with children. Felt more energetic. Now lost 6lbs. Day 19: Have kicked fast food habit. Only drinking alcohol occasionally. Eating more healthily.

Went cycling. Feeling better about myself. Not looking for fatty food. Day 21: Turned down cake for colleague’s birthday. Walking further. Eating smaller portions.

I WAS on the radio this morning reviewing the papers for LBC and as luck would have it, one of the news items was this continuing debate on whether certain items of food and drink should be taxed because of their high fat or sugar content.
