Problem: You can't keep on buying new wardrobes!

Losing weight can be a time fraught with mixed emotions. You feel pleased with yourself because you’ve started to lose weight but you can become increasingly frustrated with your clothes that may quickly start to become loose and feel very unattractive.

For those of us who have a few stones to lose it can also be a very expensive time if we don’t buy the correct garments, because as a rule of thumb each stone we lose is about one dress size. Whichever way you look at it, a size 20 item on a size 18 body can look pretty grim as your body shrinks.

 

Women with less to lose will notice smaller changes and clothes will become less tight and will feel more comfortable over the period of weight loss, but if you’re losing stones rather than pounds then this provides a new complication – how do I look fabulous in my clothes when they become baggy, but not wanting to buy new ones YET!

Be warned: most baggy clothes will only serve to add weight on visually rather than looking as though you are shrinking, so here’s my advice on how you never need to look like a ‘baggy lady’ during this exciting time.
