Eating carrots helps reduce heart disease
A THINKING SLIMMER WEIGHT LOSS TIP
Research in Holland shows that one of the best ways to protect against heart disease is to eat carrots. They contain higher levels of micro-nutrients and chemicals which help prevent fat clogging up your arteries.
A study at Wageningen University looked at the diets of 20,000 men and women and noted their intake of vegetables then compared this to the incidence of heart disease over 10 years.
The scientists found that a 25 gram a day increase in the intake of orange fruit and vegetables resulted in a 26 per cent drop in heart disease. Carrots were associated with a 32 per cent lower risk.
So whether it’s a carrot, an orange or a pepper, an extra one a day looks like it could be helping keep you alive as well as helping you to lose weight.
