Listen to your Slimpod

Sounds daft, doesn’t it, but some people stop listening.  You must keep listening because the constant repetition of the special language we use is what causes the changes to take place in your brain.

This will take time, of course, because your brain has been conditioned by years of unhelpful thinking about food which has created the bad eating habits you now want to break.

When we tell you to start by listening to your Slimpod for 21 days in a row this is purely to enable the changes to BEGIN to take effect. To help these vital changes to become permanent will obviously take longer. The more familiar you become with what your Slimpod says to you, the more powerful its effect will be.

Everyone is different and many people say they notice changes in their eating habits in the first three weeks with weight loss gradually following in the weeks after that.

Be patient. It’s not a race. Just relax and let the Slimpod do its work for you.

Fill in your daily success log

You’ll find your success log in the handbook you downloaded. It’s vital that you write down each day the positive differences you notice in your behaviour and the way you feel. This is for two reasons: Firstly, some of the changes can happen without you even knowing it and it’s only by making yourself think and write things down that some of the differences will occur to you.

Note down even the smallest positive differences you have noticed in your attitude to food, exercise and your lifestyle. It may be something small such as “left a potato on my plate” or “walked to the shops instead of driving” but all these little positives add up to bigger ones.

Secondly, by writing the changes down each day you bring them to the attention of your subconcious and you’re constantly reminding it that it is taking the right steps to help you achieve your goals.

Your Slimpod is slowly helping you to create a positive view of the world (we call it your positive reality tunnel) and every time you write down the good things that are happening to you your brain is creating positive expectancy.

What’s that? Well, to put it simply: What you think about is what you get in life.

We tend to be what we pay most attention to. So if you pay attention to the positive things that are happening to you you’ll get more of them. If you focus on what stays the same, you’ll stay the same.

Whether you’re experiencing small changes or big changes doesn’t matter. What matters is that changes are happening. Writing them in your success log primes your brain for what you want it to achieve the next day.

Set goals your brain can achieve

Our brains need targets. This is because your subconscious mind, which is enormously powerful, is designed like a guided missile system and is constantly seeking targets to aim at and hit.

Your subconscious works non-stop, 24 hours a day, whether you’re awake or asleep.  Its main functions are to keep you well and healthy and to serve your every need.

Together your conscious thinking mind and your unconscious autopilot mind form a unique partnership. It may help if you imagine your brain to be like a ship.

Your conscious mind is the captain and has responsibility for setting the direction and giving the orders. Your unconscious mind is the crew that must obey the captain’s commands.

The main way your captain communicates with his crew is through your thoughts. Every thought is a goal or command for your subconscious to obey. The goals you repeat most often, and those connected to the strongest emotions, become the priority commands that your subconscious obeys.
